After fencing we wind down and replenish lost fluids and at the Horseshoe Inn, a very friendly local pub (Directions).

Parking outside can be difficult so it is best to get the first space you see as you come towards the pub from the University.

Our hosts there are Liz and Paul and, incidentally, they play really good background music.

• Theatre visits. to see . Very good stage fighting in the Three Musketeers!
• Summer Bar-B-Q in the garden of Pat's country house
• Boat trip along the river Avon, with supper. We ended up in the weir overlooked by Pulteney bridge.

• Skittles and supper at the Horseshoe Inn

• Christmas dinner in the Bath Pump Rooms in the gallery overlooking the Roman Bath. A magical setting!
