Introduction
The following jobs in the Junior Club are described:
Junior Club Administrator
Responsible to: Bath Sword Club Management Committee
Main Duties are:
- To take full responsibility for the provision of resources for the club's junior sessions at Bath University on Thursdays from 18:45 to 20:15.
- To book a suitable venue.
- To ensure that sufficient equipment (weapons and protective clothing) is available.
- To ensure that there are sufficient coaches available for the number of juniors in the session.
- To be familiar with the document Junior Club Risk Assessment.
- To assess the risks before each session and record the outcome.
- To monitor safety during the session as defined for the Junior Club Administrator in the Junior Club Risk Assessment.
- To keep records of attendance.
- To keep records of the BFA Grade Achievements awarded.
- To ensure that junior club members are reminded of their obligation under the club rules to join the BFA.
- To maintain a list of competitions and to encourage juniors to take part.
- To ensure that all coaches and volunteers involved in the junior session are CRB cleared.
- To nominate a deputy in his/her absence.
Junior Club Coach Coordinator
Responsible to: Bath Sword Club Management Committee
Main Duties are:
- To take full responsibility for the club's junior coaching sessions at Bath University on Thursdays from 18:45 to 20:15
- To maintain high ethical standards in coaching and prepare all coaching sessions in advance
- To work with the Junior Club Coaches in the preparation and running of each session
- To be familiar with the document Junior Club Risk Assessment
- To monitor safety during the session as defined for Coaches in the Junior Club Risk Assessment
- To attend club committee meetings and report on progress. To provide feedback on the organisation and degree of success of junior coaching and competitions
- To assist in the selection of teams and to recommend suitable events for individual fencers to enter
- Whenever possible to travel to competitions with the junior team(s) and accompany fencers to individual competitions
- To inform the Junior Club Administrator in advance of any sessions that cannot be attended
Junior Club Coach
Responsible to: Bath Sword Club Junior Club Coordinator
Main Duties are:
- To assist with the club's junior coaching sessions at Bath University on Thursdays from 18:45 to 20:15
- To develop and maintain high ethical standards in coaching and assist in the preparation of coaching sessions in
- To work with the Junior Club Coach Coordinator in the preparation and running of each session
- To be familiar with the document Junior Club Risk
- To monitor safety during the session as defined for Coaches in the Junior Club Risk
- To offer the club feedback on the organisation and degree of success of junior coaching and competitions
- Whenever possible to travel to competitions with the junior team(s) and accompany fencers to individual competitions
- To inform the Junior Club Administrator in advance of any sessions that cannot be attended
