Learn Fencing

Ever wanted to try fencing? It is one of those sports that most people have always wanted to try but perhaps have never had the opportunity.

Now is your chance! Bath Sword Club is the largest and most successful fencing club in the South West and it runs courses for juniors to learn the basics of fencing as a modern sport.

Venue Founders Sports Hall, Bath University. The sports hall is an excellent facility with changing rooms and parking. Directions
Time

Thursdays, 7:00 – 8:00pm. Courses are held regularly.
The 2008 calendar is:

January 31 to March 6
March 20 to April 24  

September 4

to October 9  
October 30 to December 4  
Duration 6 sessions
Suitable for The course is targeted at boys and girls from 8 to 16 years of age who have no previous experience of fencing.
Objectives To teach the fundamentals of fencing; attack, defence, safety, rules of competition using the foil as the primary weapon. To introduce competitive fencing. You will take an achievement award (Grade 1 in Foil fencing) by the end of the course
Cost £35 payable in advance. A place will be reserved on receipt of payment
Class Size Classes are limited to a maximum of 14 fencers. If the class is full you will be offered a place on the next course
Equipment All fencing equipment will be provided. All you need to bring are gym shoes or trainers (no black soles please) and wear loose clothing
